Just stumbling through life…
I would consider myself a man of many failures, but hopefully am better for it. I’ve tried a little bit of everything in this weird world and feel as if I took one big detour to end up right back here…
How it started…
I always tinkered with writing even as a young child. From a story about a lonely frog on a lily pad, jumping from one leaf to the next in search of a new friend, all the way to a parody script of the Pirates of the Caribbean with Davy Jones’ stinky locker and the great saltine cracker. Oh… the embarrassing memories of being a kid. Then life got in the way, and society and outside factors pushed me in a certain direction, just like it does to almost everyone. Fast-forward twenty years, and I suddenly remembered (with the help of my lovely wife) that I actually like this old-fashioned thing called writing.

2025
Well . . . I am at last nearing the publication of my first novel. Looking back, I don’t think I knew what I was signing up for when I decided to go the route of self-publishing. Once the first draft was done, I was totally unprepared for the amount of work left to reach the finish line. Putting it away for months (I used this agonizing wait as an opportunity to write the sequel, which I am almost as equally excited about), finding beta readers, rewrite after rewrite (I think I lost count), and then at last finding a professional editor and awaiting the return of my passion project, my first novel.
A few more rewrites, some major name changes, and a lot of double, triple, quadruple checking later, and it is at last time to put it out into the world, something that still terrifies me at this very moment. I put so much of myself into this book, so much effort, and I really hope that many who read it will enjoy the story in its pages.
